BLACK TIE BEACH WINDOW DISPLAY Virginia Beach, VA May 2023

A window display installation to launch the opening of Black Tie Beach, a luxury goods gift shop in Virginia Beach, VA. Here you see 18 balloons made from plaster, pressed and dried botanicals, gold leafing, raffia, twill tape black ribbon and a variety of dried dune grasses.

CEILING INSTALLATION “HEAD OVER HEELS” Lopez Island, 2019

This project came together over the course of four months in the spring/summer of 2019. We foraged and harvested both wild and cultivated botanicals from all over the San Juan Islands, WA. It seems there wasn’t a garden, field, meadow, roadside ditch, or abandoned parking lot we didn’t hit ! A huge thank you to our extremely generous friends for allowing us to clip the magnificent blooms they produced.

Amanda McCauley foraged and harvested all of these natural flowers, leaves, pods, cedar skins, stems, branches and vegtetable flowers. This installation project took 4 months to complete including the hanging and drying of the elements.
